the dallas zoo

^^ this baby giraffe is less than a month old and was running all over the place. ^^

^^ emer loved the goats and nearly smothered them to death! ^^

stephen took the day off on friday so we could all go to the dallas zoo. we originally planned on going for emer's 2nd birthday, but plans quickly changed when stephen had some responsibilities at work come up that weekend. this was emer's first time going to the zoo and i'm glad that we could share in this experience as a family because he LOVED it. he knows a lot of the animal names and kept saying them over and over. he was especially fascinated by the elephants. one of the elephants was throwing mud up on it's back so emer said, "ewww yucky." that's what we say anytime he gets all dirty and needs to be cleaned. i love that emer is so curious and that he is learning so much at this age. it makes these kind of outings that much more enjoyable. oliver just enjoyed going along for the ride because he is the chillest baby ever and would be happy anywhere we take him.
